クリスマスプログラムーI I

約五年前にワードの活動委員会のメンバーとしてワードのクリスマスパーテイのために私は普通よりもっと霊的な部分を入れたらどうかと委員長に提案しました。いいではないかと言う返事を受けて、これを書きました。イエス・キリストの誕生と関係ある１０人の立場からのちょっとだけの台詞です。連載して載せます。今回は３つ、来週は3つ再来週は４つ。そして今回出演者への注意を載せます。 　（The program consists of 10 people associated with the birth of Christ who tell of their feelings. See below for suggestions of the program.)クリスマスプログラムーI 

          4.       I am Mary. I have always known that God lives, that he loves me and all other people. I rejoiced as I learned from my parents of a Messiah who would come to earth to save us, His people, from their sins. I knew of Isaiah=s prophecies of this Messiah. I wondered if I might be alive when he came. I loved Him and I rejoiced in his goodness.

私はマリヤです。神が生きておられること、私を、そして他の人々も愛してくださっていることを疑ったことはありません。民を罪から贖うために地上に来られるメシアについて両親から教えられた時、喜びを感じました。イザヤの預言からこのメシアについて知っていました。メシアが降誕される時、私は生きているだろうかと思ったものです。私はメシアを愛し、私たちのためにしてくださる良きことに喜びを感じました。

When God=s messenger, Gabriel, came from the heavens to speak to me, I was filled with awe and amazement. He was so kind and considerate. I felt God=s love for me throughout my whole being. When he told me I had been chosen from the foundation of the world to be the mother of the Messiah in the flesh, I was filled with wonder, but I knew what he said was true. I wept in joy. I was not afraid. I felt great peace. I knew I could accept or reject this honor. I thought of Joseph, my beloved, to whom I was promised. I asked how it could happen. Gabriel told me that my elderly cousin, Elisabeth was with child. I rejoiced to hear it. He assured me that with God, nothing is impossible. Gabriel explained how it would happen. I humbly said, Be it unto me according to thy word.@

神の御使いガブリエルが天から降って話しかけた時、私は畏れと驚きに満たされました。でも御使いはとてもやさしく心をかけてくれました。体全体が神の愛に包まれるのを感じました。御使いから世の初めから肉にあってメシアの母になるように選ばれていたと告げられたとき、本当に驚きましたが、それが真実であると知りました。喜びのあまり涙が頬を伝わりました。恐れる気持ちはなく、大きな安らぎを感じました。このような誉れ高い役目を拒むこともできました。契りを交わした愛するヨセフのことを考えて、どうしてそんなことがありえましょうかと尋ねました。年老いたいとこのエリザベツも身ごもっていると答えたガブリエルの言葉に、私は喜びました。御使いは神にできないことはないと言い、どのように起こるのかを説明してくれました。そこで私は心から言いました。「お言葉どおりこの身に成りますように」と。 

          5.      I am Elisabeth. I am the mother of John, wife of Zacharias. When my cousin Mary came to visit me, I was soon to deliver my son. As soon as I recognized her, the babe leaped in my womb, and I was filled with the Holy Ghost. These are the words I said.

      私の名はエリザベツ、ヨハネの母、ザカリヤの妻です。いとこのマリヤが訪ねてきたのは、間もなく息子が生まれるという時でした。それがマリヤだとわかると、その子が胎内で喜びおどったのです。私は聖霊に満たされ、こう言いました。

      ABlessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.@

         「あなたは女の中で祝福されたかた、あなたの胎の実も祝福されています。主の母上がわたしのところにきてくださるとは、なんという光栄でしょう。ごらんなさい。あなたのあいさつの声がわたしの耳にはいったとき、子供が胎内で喜びおどりました。主のお語りになったことが必ず成就すると信じた女は、なんとさいわいなことでしょう。」 

          6.      I am Nephi. I had never doubted it would happen. I had received numerous assurances from the Spirit that the Messiah would come. Samuel, the Lamanite prophet had been very specific about the timing and signs we would see of the Messiah=s birth, but we didn=t know the exact day.

          私はニーファイです。メシヤが降誕されるという御霊からの約束を何度も受けていたので、それを疑ったことは一度もありません。レーマン人の預言者サムエルはメシヤの来臨の時とそのしるしについて詳しく預言しましたが、いつその日が来るのかは知りませんでした。

      I was deeply troubled when the unbelievers, scorning God, selected a day for the signs to occur with the threat of killing all believers if the signs did not occur.

          私はこれを信じない人々が神をあざけり、日を決めて、その日に預言が成就しなければ皆殺しにするとおどしていたことに、深く心を悩ませました。

I spent all day pleading with God until I received this assurance from Him.

ALift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfill all that which I have caused to be spoken by the mouth of my holy prophets.@

私は終日熱烈に主に叫び続けました。そして主から次のような約束を得ることができました。「頭を上げて、元気を出しなさい。見よ、時は近い。今夜、しるしが示され、明日、わたしは世に来る。そしてわたしは、聖なる預言者たちの口を通して語ってきたすべてのことを成就することを、世の人々に示す。」

Comforted, I wept, rejoicing to think that many of the unbelievers would now repent and come unto Christ who would be born across the world. I thanked my God that He had not forgotten us who lived so far away.

これでこれまで信じなかった多くの人々が悔い改めて、この世にお生まれになるキリストのもとへ来ることが出来ると考えると、元気づけられて、喜びに涙しました。このように遠くの地にいる私たちをも忘れずに覚えていてくださったことを、神に感謝しました。

　　　1.　After everyone has finished their meals, invite all to come into the chapel, including those who might feel they should clean up instead. After the program, the cleanup can begin.

食事がすんだら、後片づけの係りの人たちも含めて、全員にチャペルへ集まってもらいます。後片づけはプログラムが終わってから始めるようにしてください。 

2.      ２．The purpose of the presentation is to help those who listen feel the Spirit witness to them of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

このプレゼンテーションの目的は、これを聞く人々に救い主イエス・キリストについての御霊の証を感じてもらうことです。 

　　　3. The Spirit will guide as actors are selected for the parts.

誰がどの役を演じるかは、御霊の導きによって決めてください。

　　　4.  When they perform, actors should not joke about how they feel frightened, etc. They should not do anything that would hamper the Spirit from being in the room as they speak.

演じる人は恐れたりする場面で、おどけたりふざけたりしてはいけません。会場に御霊が下るのを妨げるようなことをしないでください。 

　　　5.  Actors should not dress up for their parts, but perform in their Sunday best clothes.

演じる人は衣装を付けずに、日曜日の服装で演じてください。 

　　　6.  Actors may memorize or paraphrase their speeches, but should not add or subtract from what is written without being so directed by the Spirit.

演じる人はせりふを暗記したり、言い換えることはできますが、御霊の導きなしには書かれている言葉を加えたり、除いたりしないでください。 

　　　7. Actors should pray in advance to have the Spirit with them as they speak.

演じる人は御霊によってせりふを言うことができるように、始まる前に祈ってください。

8. Actors should feel the Spirit as they speak the words of testimony.

演じる人は証の言葉を言うときには、御霊を感じることが必要です。

９． The actor who portrays the shepherd should have a nice voice and sing While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night.

羊飼いを演じる人は「羊飼いらが」を歌うので、声の良い人を選んでください。

１０.　After the presentation, two or three Christmas Carols can be sung, ending with Silent Night.

プレゼンテーションの後、クリスマスキャロルを２，３曲歌い、最後は「聖しこの夜」で終わります。
