愛する兄弟姉妹、私の友人
Beloved Brothers and Sisters and Friends
柳井支部の林忠夫兄弟はわたしにこの紋付を貸して下さって、後ろの日本語を書いて下さいました。私の英語はそんなにきれいではないですが、まあ、読めると思います。この写真が撮ったのは１９６１年のクリスマスの前でした。これをクリスマカードにして家族と友人に送りました。今年も オンラインでそうしたいと思います。髪の色が変わってきていますが、わたしの日本に住んでいる神様の子供に対する愛は大きくなっているだけです。
Brother Tadao Hayashi of the Yanai Branch lent me this formal kimono and wrote the Japanese. This picture was taken just before Christmas in 1961. I used it as my Christmas card. would like to do it again this year online.
私が伝道に出る２９年前に、私のお父さん,Elmer L. Fillmore,は１９３２年がら１９３４年まで米国の北西伝道部に召されて、当時の習慣に従って、この写真をはがきに して、宣教師同士と会員と求道者に配り、また送りました。お父さんは２６歳、大不況の時に伝道に出ました。彼のこの伝道に出る決定はわたしにとわたしの家族に永遠の祝福を沢山もとらされました。お父さんと彼を手伝った方々に心から感謝しています。彼が伝道に行かなかったら、 おそらくわたしも行かなかったでしょう。
29 years ago, my father, Elmer L. Fillmore was called to serve in the Northwestern States Mission from 1932 to 1934. It was the of the depression. As was the custom in those days, he made this picture into a postcard which he gave to fellow missionaries, members and investigators. My father's decision to serve a mission has brought many blessings to me and my family. I am grateful for those who assisted my father to serve a mission. I think if he had not served, it is unlikely I would have served either.
