神はずっと昔から皆さん一人一人を御存じであったことを皆さんに証(あかし)します（教義と聖約93：23参照）。遠い昔から皆さんを愛してこられました。神はすべての星の名前（詩篇147：4；イザヤ40：26参照）だけでなく，皆さんの名前，そして喜びや悲しみもすべて御存じです。ちなみに，不滅の星などこの世に存在しません。星はいつか消えてしまいます。しかし，今晩皆さんの隣に座っている人たちは不滅の存在です。不完全ではありますが，「イエス様のように」なろうと努めているのです。ニール・Ａ・マックスウェルリアホナ２００４年５月号、４６
