How Many Ancestors?
1) On a genealogy pedigree chart, in the first generation there is one person.
2) In the second generation upward, there are two people, a father and a mother.
3) In the third generation, there are four people, grandparents.
4) In the fourth generation, there are eight people, great-grandparents.
5) In the fifth generation, there are 16 people, great, great grandparents.
6) In the tenth generation, there are 512 people.
7) In the 21st generation there are over one million (1,048,576) people.
8) In the 31st generation there are over one billion (1,073,741,824) people.
9) In the 41st generation there are over one trillion (1,099,511,627,776) people.
10) How many years are in a generation?
11) Some people think it is an average of 30 years.
12) So in ten generations how many years is that? 300 years
13) In 21 generations, the number is 630 years.
14) In 31 generations, the number is 930 years.
15) In 41 generations, the number is 1,230 years.
16) Now of course, there never has been a trillion people on the earth before.
17) How do we explain this?
